Ingredients

  • 312 ml Warm water
  • 4.8 grams Dried active yeast
  • 4.8 ml Maple Syrup
  • 4.8 ml Olive Oil
  • 480 g Plain flour all purpose or 00, plus extra for dusting
  • 9.6 g Salt

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, add warm water, maple syrup and dried yeast and mix. Allow to sit for 10 minutes to activate the yeast. The mixture will become frothy.
312 ml Warm water, 4.8 grams Dried active yeast, 4.8 ml Maple Syrup
  • In the same bowl, add olive oil and salt to the yeast mixture and whisk to combine. Add flour. Mix the ingredients until they start to come together and then turn the mixture onto a clean floured surface and knead for five minutes. If using an electric mixture, turn it on to low-medium to knead for five minutes.
    4.8 ml Olive Oil, 480 g Plain flour, 9.6 g Salt
  • Make a ball with your dough using your floured hands, lightly grease the bowl with olive oil and place the ball in the center of the bowl. Cover the bowl with cling wrap and a tea towel. Allow it to rest for an hour in a warm place so that it can rise. It will double in size.
  • Preheat your oven to 220°C (430°F). Create a big dough ball with the risen dough (make sure your hands are well floured), place it onto a floured surface and divide it into quarters. Shape each quarter into a dough ball.
Roll one of the balls out on a floured surface into your desired thickness (keep your other dough balls covered) Top with your favorite pizza toppings and bake in the oven for 8-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown. Let the pizza rest for a few minutes, then slice up and serve.

Notes

Yield - 4 small or 2 large pizzas.
Keeping your dough covered whilst you are working, will ensure it doesn't dry out.
I highly recommend measuring out your ingredients when baking, this ensures the results are 100%, measurements are below in the recipe card.
